Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) New England

Sean R. Garvey serves as the Assistant Special Agent in Charge (ASAC) for HSI New England’s Transnational Organized Crime / Cyber Division. Based in Boston, ASAC Garvey has oversight for HSI New England’s financial investigations, cyber-crime, and child exploitation / computer forensics portfolio. ASAC Garvey’s division is responsible for investigating, disrupting, and dismantling transnational criminal organizations and terrorist networks that threaten or seek to exploit the customs and immigration laws of the United States, with an emphasis on cyber-enabled crimes.

ASAC Garvey has been assigned to HSI New England since 2012, where he has served as the Group Supervisor of the Counter Proliferation Investigations Group, the OCDETF Strike Force and the Document and Benefit Fraud Task Force. ASAC Garvey also serves as the Administrative Overseer for HSI New England’s Certified Undercover Operation. Prior to his position at HSI New England, ASAC Garvey completed a tour at HSI Headquarters where he served as a Section Chief and Acting Unit Chief for the HSI Undercover Operations Unit. Mr. Garvey began his federal law enforcement career in 2001 as a Special Agent with the United States Customs Service assigned to JFK International Airport in New York where he investigated international narcotics trafficking and money laundering organizations. 

ASAC Garvey holds a Master of Science Degree in Criminal Justice from Northeastern University and a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Criminology from the Florida State University.
