Mike Hineline

Mike Hineline currently serves as the Chief Information and Technology Officer for the Indiana Public Retirement System (INPRS) in Indianapolis, Indiana. With over $35 billion in assets under management, INPRS is among the largest 100 pension funds in the United States. The fund serves the needs of 500,000 members and retirees representing more than 1,200 employers including school corporations, municipalities, public universities, and state agencies. In his current role, Mike has responsibility for formulating and implementing the overall information technology vision. He oversees all technical aspects including IT solutions and services delivery, security and data management with an emphasis on solving strategic, management, and business operational challenges.

Mr. Hineline has been involved with computers and technology in one form or another for over 40 years. He has provided technology leadership for multiple organizations in the for-profit and government sectors and has held roles in a variety of areas including operations, programming, system design and development, project management and technical management. Mike’s previous positions include technology leadership roles at One America Financial Partners (American United Life Insurance Co), Quest Information Systems, serving as the Chief Information Officer for the City of Indianapolis and Marion County Indiana as well as Anthem Alliance Health Insurance Company, a startup division of Anthem Blue Cross Blue Shield. He also has prior experience with Macmillan Publishing, a division of Simon and Schuster, with Citicorp spending 7 years in the banking industry, and 7 years with Purdue University.

Mike completed significant coursework at Purdue University and received a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration with distinction from Indiana Wesleyan University. Mike currently chairs the Industrial Advisory Board for the Computer Information Technology (CIT) School at Indiana University Purdue University Indianapolis (IUPUI) and is a long term member having twice served as President and 10 years as Treasurer for the Indianapolis chapter of the Society of Information Management (SIM). He also serves on the Advisory Board of the Eleven Fifty Academy. He is a member of Indiana’s Women and Hi Tech organization, a growing group focused on empowering women in the technology field and encouraging the next generation to join.

Mike lives with his wife on a lake north of Indianapolis. They spend time with their four grandchildren and families whenever possible. Mike loves to fish, read, spend time with friends on the lake and on his Honda Gold Wing.
