“Special Agent Matthew Morris has been with Homeland Security Investigations since 2017 and has over 12 years of federal law enforcement experience. SA Morris was initially assigned to the HSI Laredo, Texas office and investigated human smuggling and human trafficking at the Southwest border. SA Morris has led and been involved in several multi-jurisdictional complex investigations involving smuggling and worked on a task force targeting human smuggling stash houses in Laredo.
SA Morris transferred to the HSI Austin, Texas office and is currently assigned to a cyber and financial crimes group. SA Morris has received cybersecurity certification from the SANS Institute. SA Morris has since led and been involved in cases involving business email compromise fraud, Covid-19 PPP/EIDL loan fraud, child exploitation, and computer network intrusion.
SA Morris previously served as a Federal Air Marshal in the New York City Field Office and the Mission Operations Center of the Federal Air Marshal Service, and holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Microbiology from Arizona State University.”
