Joe Kattner

Director, Systems Engineering at Fidelis Security, LLC

Joe has over 35 years of experience working as a systems, network, and security engineer. He is a US Navy veteran who has worked at leading communications, network, and technology companies. As a cybersecurity research and development engineer, he guided product selection and network security architecture for some of the largest programs in the US Navy. Serving the Department of Defense, Joe has written many papers and studies on cybersecurity. He is the author of multiple Security Technical Implementation Guides (DISA STIGs).

Joe holds a number of professional certifications in computer networking, operations, and security. He is an active CCNP, CISSP, C|EH and is passionate about computer and network security. He has served as president of the ISC2 Charleston chapter and continues to advise the board on cybersecurity interests in the Charleston area. He serves as vice president of the Coastal Service Disabled Veterans Owned Business chapter, part of a national group dedicated to helping veterans become successful entrepreneurs.

When not working, Joe enjoys spending time with his family: wife Kaoru, sons Ken and James. From the beaches to the golf courses, Joe and his family enjoy all the outdoor activities offered in their hometown of Charleston, South Carolina.
