Special Agent - Cyber Investigations Liaison at HSI

Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) Special Agent (SA) Jason Conboy began his law enforcement career with HSI in 2007 and was assigned to Miami, FL tasked with investigating cross border narcotics smuggling. His current position is a Cyber Investigations Liaison assigned to HSI Ottawa, Canada at the U.S. Embassy. His portfolio includes supporting cross border cyber intrusion criminal investigations and working with Canadian law enforcement counterparts to disrupt cybercrime. He is also a liaison to the RCMP National Cybercrime Coordination Centre. Before joining HSI Ottawa in August 2021, SA Jason Conboy was assigned to the HSI Cyber Crimes Center (C3), Network Intrusion Section, in Washington D.C. where he was tasked with building out the tools, technology, and training for cyber investigations. These investigations include dark net, cryptocurrency, cyber/network intrusions, and ransomware. While assigned to HSI C3, SA Jason Conboy led the HSI national and international cyber COVID-19 operation which targeted cyber criminals and the technology used to exploit the pandemic and commit cyber enabled fraud and malicious cyber-attacks. From 2012 – 2019, SA Jason Conboy was assigned to HSI Hendersonville, North Carolina field office where he led numerous successfully cyber investigations that targeted international child exploitation organizations, dark net criminals, and money launderers using cryptocurrency to evade law enforcement. SA Jason Conboy has over 11 years of experience working cyber investigations and shares his experience and knowledge by training law enforcement in the United States and around the world. SA Jason Conboy holds a Criminal Justice degree from the University of Central Florida and multiple industry standard certifications and advanced trainings for cybersecurity, cryptocurrency, and cyber investigations.
