Irina has over 20 years of experience in IT and cybersecurity, with a strong background in the healthcare industry and government compliance., recently starting the role of Director of IT, running the Office of the CISO at Baxter Healthcare.
Previously, as a Business Information Security Partner at Medtronic, she built and lead a team of security leaders that partner with all operating units and corporate functions to ensure the protection of sensitive data and systems. She developed and implemented the BISO program at Medtronic, aligning it with industry regulations and standards, such as NIST 800-53 and NIST CSF, HITRUST, HIPAA, ISO27001, etc. She also identified and mitigated security risks and led cross-functional teams in the development and execution of security strategies. She is a connector and a relationship builder, creating trust and inspiring collaboration. She is passionate about advancing diversity, equity, and inclusion in the cybersecurity field, and serves as a board advisor for the ISACA Minnesota Chapter, serves as a chair for the Health-ISAC Diversity, Equity and Inclusion working group, and a founder and co-chair for the Health-ISAC Business Information Security Office (BISO) Working Group, and serves on the board of InfraGard MN.
