Stas is a self-driven and highly motivated Information Security professional with a proven track record of success and achievements in the information security space, with over 20+ years of experience.
Stas is Canadian but was born in Klaipeda Lithuania and immigrated to Canada when he was six years old. Stas has always had an interest in Information Security even from a young age, he would always be tinkering with a computer or some other technology. Stas went on to obtain a Bachelor's Degree in Information Systems Security from Sheridan College in Oakville Ontario, this was in fact the first program in Canada dedicated to Information Security. Stas has gone on to be seen as an industry expert in this field achieving a wide range of accreditations such as a CISSP, CISA, CISM, GSEC, CEH, ISO 27001 Lead Auditor.
Stas has gone on to hold a number of roles such as Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) and Head of Information Security across Canada, UK and the US. Working for Brokerages, Financial Institutions, Commercial Real Estate, Oil and Gas and finally now running his own company, Compyl in New York City.
Stas' personal background combined with his working experience across various sectors, countries and specifically working for Gazprom Marketing and Trading in London has given him unique insight and perspectives into how western countries and eastern countries approach Information Security, the things they prioritize and their respective risk tolerances.
