Seema Sewell

Seema is the Assistant Chief Information Security Office for Maricopa County, currently the 4th most populous county in the United States. She has been managing programs in the government sector for almost 20 years starting with the prevention and treatment of infectious diseases through public health measures. With adoption of ARRA and its HITECH provision in 2009, Seema shifted her focus towards the integration of technology and healthcare to promote data driven decisions while maintaining data security and privacy. She quickly realized that diseases in humans and ‘diseases’ in computers are pretty much the same thing and has leveraged her experience in both areas to take a holistic, systems approach to information security that she has employed for the better part of a decade.
