Sean McCloskey

Sean McCloskey is the Chief of Cybersecurity for Region 4 within the Department of Homeland Security’s (DHS) Cyber and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA).  As the Chief of Cybersecurity, Sean leads the Cybersecurity Advisors located in all eight states within Region 4 (NC, SC, GA, TN, KY, FL, AL, MS).  Cybersecurity Advisors are CISA cybersecurity professionals who assist critical infrastructure owners and operators to make improvements to their cybersecurity posture.  CSAs work with members of all sixteen critical infrastructure sectors.  Prior to being assigned as the Chief of Cybersecurity, Sean served as the Branch Chief for the Cybersecurity Advisor Program based in Arlington, VA.  Sean is currently based in Charlotte, North Carolina.

Prior to joining DHS, Mr. McCloskey served as an information security consultant with over 20 years of experience supporting government clients. Mr. McCloskey has also served for over 25 years in the United States Marine Corps Reserve (USMCR) and is an active drilling reservist.

Mr. McCloskey holds a B.S. in Computer Science and a M.S. in Information Security and Assurance.
