Assistant Special Agent in Charge Mark N. Webster currently manages the Cyber, Security, Critical Infrastructure and Administrative Services Branch of the Houston Office of the Federal Bureau of Investigation.  Mr. Webster oversees all operations of the following programs:  Cyber; the Greater Houston Regional Computer Forensic Laboratory; Security; the Administrative Services Unit; and FBI-Houston’s Critical Infrastructure, which consists of the Electronics Technology, Technically Trained Agent, and the Information Technology Programs. Mr. Webster also served as the Crisis Management Manager from 2015 through 2020, where he oversaw numerous special events and was the on-scene commander for several active shooter incidents and also involved in the Division’s local recovery efforts stemming from Hurricane Harvey’s aftermath in 2017.

Mr. Webster began his career with the FBI in February 1997 as a Special Agent in Atlanta, Georgia, where he worked and was recognized for his successes in the dismantlement of several drug trafficking and major theft organizations.

In 2003, Mr. Webster was transferred to Washington, D.C. to serve as Supervisor within the agency’s Criminal Investigative Division.  In June 2007, he was selected as Supervisory Special Agent and Program Coordinator for FBI Houston’s Cyber Program and the Houston Area Cyber Crime Task Force, a position he held for six years.  Mr. Webster returned to Washington, D.C. in 2013 and served in various executive roles within the Cyber Division at Washington, D.C., before returning to Houston as Assistant Special Agent in Charge for the Cyber Program in 2015.

Prior to working for the FBI, Mr. Webster served in the U.S. Army National Guard; was a Patrol Officer with the Dallas Police Department; and was assigned to the FBI Dallas Office as a Task Force Officer, where his undercover work led to the dismantlement of two of Dallas’ most violent gangs.  Mr. Webster earned a Bachelor of Business Administration and Management degree from Sam Houston State University in Huntsville, TX.
