David Schwartz

David Schwartz is a Postal Inspector (PI) with the United States Postal Inspection Service (USPIS) assigned to the New York Division – Intelligence Team.  PI Schwartz is currently assigned to the Homeland Security Investigation’s (HSI) New York Dark Web and Cryptocurrency Task Force comprised of numerous agencies including HSI, USPIS, IRS-CI, DEA, NYPD, and other state and local partners.  In this role PI Schwartz is assigned to lead investigations into emerging threats related to crimes involving the dark web and cryptocurrency, including narcotics and firearms trafficking, large scale data breaches, Cryptocurrency and NFT related fraud, and other matters affecting national security. Previously PI Schwartz served as a Special Agent in the United States Secret Service.  In this role in addition to duties protecting domestic and foreign heads of states, PI Schwartz served assignment on the Los Angeles Electronic Crimes Task Force where he also specialized in dark web and cryptocurrency investigation as well as the Los Angeles Fraud Task force where he was responsible for investigating complex frauds related to Organized Criminal Organizations. Before starting his career in federal law enforcement PI Schwartz served as a combat arms officer in the United States Army.
