In my current role as the Vice President of Enterprise Strategy at Veeam Software, I have the privilege of interacting with data center professionals, IT vendors, industry influencers, press and reseller and channel partners from all over the world.
Now 31 years in backup/recovery and storage management software as a developer, strategist or industry analyst, I still am passionate about backup. Backup, availability overall and storage management in general are challenges that are universal. Every organization seeks more capable, easier to use and most cost effective solutions. I’m very fortunate to be part of an outstanding organization at Veeam that is committed to delivering a platform to address those issues.
Below details my recent and distant past, but I’m far more excited about the future.
Veeam Software: Responsible for driving strategic product programs, spearheading industry engagement, and evangelizing Veeam’s vision for Cloud Data Management at key events across the globe. Work closely with the executive leadership team in accelerating Veeam’s growth in the enterprise through active customer, partner, press, and industry influencer engagement.
Gartner: Research focus on storage strategies and technologies, with an emphasis on backup/recovery, software-defined storage (SDS) and data management. Covered both distributed and mainframe storage solutions and the overall storage capabilities and portfolios of the industry’s top and merging providers. Conference co-chairman for a 2,500 attendee event.
IBM: Developed backup software for the mainframe (DFSMSdss), was a development manager of distributed systems backup software (ADSM / TSM), was the manager for storage architects and finally was the storage software technical strategist.
