The NCLGISA (North Carolina Local Government Information Systems Association) Cybersecurity Strike Team is a small group of senior IT leaders from NC counties and municipalities who volunteer their time to assist fellow public sector entities with cybersecurity related challenges. The team is part of NC’s Joint Cybersecurity Task Force and is instrumental in providing on-site support to public sector jurisdictions experiencing cyber incidents, including ransomware, business email compromise, and other cyber events disrupting critical operations. The NCLGISA Cybersecurity Strike Team has a collective 125+ years of public sector IT experience and has responded to over 50 cyber incidents in the past three years. Beyond volunteering their time to assist public entities in need, the Strike Team also works tirelessly to translate knowledge gained during incident responses into training materials, guidance documents, and education sessions to improve the cybersecurity postures of their fellow government entities.
