James J.W. Grant – Data Connectors
Jamie Grant currently leads the Florida Digital Service, serving as the Chief Information Officer for the State of Florida. A third generation Floridian, he was born and raised in Tampa, FL but relocated to Tallahassee upon his appointment as the state’s CIO. A recovering lawyer, Grant has spent more than a decade in the technology space with focuses on technology enabled services, SaaS, HealthIT, data interoperability, and privacy. He has co-founded and launched multiple projects, helping raise more than $70m of institutional capital, and having scaled a platform throughout the US and in a number of additional countries. Grant has maintained a focus on creating and scaling innovative solutions to meet the needs of consumers within a constantly evolving marketplace.
In addition to his private sector experience, Grant served in the Florida House of Representatives from 2010-2014 and again from 2015-2020. He largely focused on commerce, healthcare, technology, and judiciary policies both as a member of the House and as a Chairman of numerous committees.
Grant graduated from Tampa Jesuit High School, earned his B.S. in Business Administration and his minor in Political Science from Auburn University, and obtained his Juris Doctorate from Stetson University College of Law.
Having been raised by a family that prioritized giving back to the community, Jamie has served as a board member for the General Norman Schwarzkopf’s Children’s Home Sporting Clays Classic, Pepin Academies, Bay Area Charter Foundation, Ana G. Mendez University, and Classical Preparatory School. In addition to serving on boards he is an avid supporter of Ducks Unlimited, Hope Children’s Home, and having done nearly a decade of mission work through the organization playing baseball in the Dominican Republic, Score International.
When he’s not spending time with friends and family or working, Grant loves playing sports, hunting, fishing, and supporting Auburn University athletics.
