Ashley is the Chief Information Security Officer for the University of Alabama. He joined UA in August of 2007. His responsibilities include managing a security team that provides an overall security strategy and roadmap, policy, compliance, incident handling, security operations, and security technology planning/implementation. He is co-chair of the PCI Compliance Committee along with the Director of Receivables and Collections, and the overall HIPAA security officer. Ashley is a Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) and Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA). Prior to joining Alabama, he had a 34 year career in Atlanta with BellSouth Corporation where he spent his last 18 years in various security roles including chief security architect and overall director of security. He is a member of the Information Systems Audit and Control Association (ISACA) and is a founding and active member of the South East Higher ED Security Round Table. Ashley has a B.S. Degree in Business Administration from Shorter College in Rome, Georgia.
